Surface Pro Touchpad Not Working Properly

Surface pro 4 touchpad not working hi. I had this problem for a while now. My surface pro 4 type cover touchpad doesn't work. It used to work. My windows 10 has the latest updates installed. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers which I downloaded from Microsoft's website. My mouse works fine when I connect it to the device and my type. Win 10 white screen. Sometimes my Surface Pro 4 touchpad stops working when I resume from sleep. The keys on the type cover still work, just no responsiveness from the touchpad. Microsoft support recommends reattaching the cover, getting the latest updates (have them), or restarting the machine. Restarting usually does the trick, but it's obviously very annoying to.
